North Wales escapes hosepipe ban... for now!

Welsh Water say there are no plans to bring in a hosepipe ban after one was announced by United Utilities in the North West of England. But as local reservoirs are barely 70% full and the dry weather continues, a ban in the next month could be a possibility.
Welsh Water has urged customers to do their best to conserve water although gardeners fighting to keep their gardens alive are fighting with their conscience!
A spokesman for the utility firm said "The current drier, warmer weather has seen demand for tap water in places increase by around 50% - mainly as a result of garden watering, sprinklers in particular - a sprinkler uses more water in an hour than a family would typically use in two days. This is why we're reminding customers that whilst the dry weather brings with it lots of sunshine for people to enjoy, water efficiency is something in which everyone can play a part."
If you haven't already done so, put installing a water butt on your garden list so you don't get caught out in years to come. Whether that tempts fate and future summers are a washout remains to be seen though!

Also we've still got a good supply of Geraniums which have been reduced down to an incredible 99p and fuscias which are half the price you'll find at any other local garden nursery. So hurry and bag yourself a bargain whilst stocks last!
